Performance and characteristics of PU elastomer:
The performance of PU elastomers is slightly different. Polyester PU has high mechanical properties and good oil resistance, but its water resistance is poor. Polyether PU has better low temperature resistance and hydrolysis resistance than polyester, but its oil resistance and mechanical properties are slightly worse.
Mechanical properties of PU: The hardness of PU elastomer varies widely, from Shore A10 to D80, and elongation at break is 600% to 800%. The highest Shore hardness of natural rubber is only A70, and the elongation at break is 550%. The PU elastomer has a higher tear strength and is 2 to 5 times larger than natural rubber. The PU elastomer has high resilience and good shock absorption. The PU elastomer has good wear resistance and is 3 to 10 times that of natural rubber.
1. Wide range of hardness. It still has the elongation and resilience of rubber at high hardness. The hardness of the polyurethane board ranges from Shore A10 to D80.
2. The strength is high. Their tear strength, tear strength and load carrying capacity are much higher than rubber for rubber. At high hardness, its impact strength and flexural strength are much higher than plastic.
3, wear-resistant. Its wear resistance is very outstanding, generally in the range of 0.01-0.10 (cm3) / 1.61km, about 3-5 times that of rubber.
4, oil resistant. The polyurethane sheet is a highly polar polymer compound which has low affinity with non-polar mineral oil and is hardly eroded in fuel oil and mechanical oil.
5, good resistance to oxygen and ozone.
