The difference between rubber roller and polyurethane roller
The polyurethane rubber layer of the polyurethane roller is a synthetic material composed of organic compounds connected by urethane bonds. There are two types of rollers, synthetic rubber and natural rubber. Synthetic rubber is made from various synthetic petroleum by-products, while natural rubber is made from latex harvested from rubber trees. Polyurethane rollers and rollers have excellent surface elasticity and good acid resistance. While there are many similarities between the two, there are also quite a few differences.
1. The service life is different. First of all, the service life of polyurethane rollers is generally longer than that of rollers. Although both types of rollers have a certain degree of elasticity and flexibility, because the polyurethane roller can withstand greater pressure, its operation time is relatively longer than that of the roller.
2. Different hardness ranges. rollers can range in hardness from 30 Shore A to 90 Shore A. Polyurethane rollers are available in a wider range of hardness, from 10 Shore A to 70 Shore D. Both are elastomers, i.e. both have elastic properties.
3. Different shock resistance. When the roller is running, it can make less noise than the polyurethane roller.
4. Different corrosion resistance. The performance of polyurethane rollers is better than that of rollers in long-term humid or acid-base environments. In these environments, roller surfaces are more susceptible to corrosion than polyurethane rollers.
5. Manufacturing costs are different. The production process of polyurethane is more complex, so the manufacturing cost of polyurethane rollers is usually higher than that of rollers.
