What are the performance characteristics of polyurethane elastomers?

(1) The processing method is simple, convenient, easy to automate and continuous production. In the operation process production of castable polyurethane elastomers, the raw materials are formed into liquids, which are measured in liquid state, mixed, reacted until poured in the mold, which is conducive to mechanized continuous production. In a sense, this advanced liquid processing process is a "reform" of the traditional rubber production method.

(2) In the currently known elastomers, the wear resistance of cast polyurethane elastomers is the best. According to the laboratory's determination of its wear performance, it is 3-5 times that of ordinary natural rubber, and if there is a certain liquid wet wear, its wear resistance is even 10 times higher than ordinary rubber, so it is commonly known as "wear-resistant rubber".

(3) The high wear resistance of cast polyurethane elastomers can not only be used as ordinary rubber for the manufacture of anti-wear parts, but also can replace traditional metal materials to a certain extent. Good wear resistance, buffering, impact resistance, fatigue resistance, corrosion resistance, low noise and other properties are a supplement to traditional metals.

(4) The hardness of the cast polyurethane elastomer has a wide range (Shao A20-Shao D80), and it can still maintain good elasticity under high hardness conditions, which is difficult to have the properties of ordinary plastics and other materials.

(5) Excellent mechanical and mechanical properties. The tensile strength of ordinary natural rubber and neoprene rubber is generally lower than 30Mps, but the tensile strength of cast polyurethane elastomers is usually greater than 40Mps, and the tear resistance is generally much higher than that of ordinary rubber materials.

(6) Excellent oil resistance. The oil resistance of polyester polyurethane can be similar to that of butadiene rubber, which has the best oil resistance in traditional rubber, and is better than that of natural, neoprene and other ordinary rubber.

(7) Oxygen resistance, ozone resistance is outstanding. According to the American Goodyear company, the oxygen absorption volume of some rubber materials was measured at 100℃ for 160h, and the natural rubber was 92mL/g; Styrene butadiene glue 18mL/g; Polyurethane 0.64mL/g.

(8) High compliance ability. The bearing capacity of the impact element and buffer element in the preparation is high, and there will be no cracking during use, while ordinary rubber will have cracks and other defects under high bearing capacity.
