Properties of polyurethane elastomers
Polyurethane elastomer is a kind of elastic polymer material containing more carbamate structure in the molecular chain. Although the output of elastomer in the total amount of polyurethane products accounts for a small proportion, but it is an indispensable polyurethane material. Polyurethane elastomers have abundant raw materials, various processing methods and certain adjustable formulations. The formed polyurethane elastomers have special hard/soft segment block structure and microphase separation physical crosslinking effect, which makes polyurethane elastomers have excellent performance and wide adjustable range, and can meet the needs of people in various fields of daily work and life. The representative advantages of polyurethane elastomers are: wide hardness range, high tensile strength/elongation, good shock absorption effect, excellent wear resistance and low temperature elasticity, etc.
Compared with rubber, polyurethane elastomers have the advantages of wear resistance, cutting resistance, tear resistance, high bearing capacity, transparency or transsparent, ozone resistance, pable molding, wide hardness range and so on. The hardness of polyurethane elastomers can range from Shore A1O to Shore D80, and the hardness of ordinary rubber is generally Shore A60 ~ 100. When preparing low hardness polyurethane elastomers, plasticizer can not be added and the properties of elastomers will not be affected. Compared with plastics, polyurethane elastomers have the advantages of non-brittle, high elongation, strong elastic recovery ability, wear resistance and so on. The hardness of rigid polyurethane elastomers can reach or even exceed that of plastics.
Compared with metal materials, polyurethane elastomer products have the advantages of light weight, low noise, loss resistance, easy processing, salt spray corrosion resistance, insulation and so on.
